About Us
The Greater Monroe Kennel Club Objectives

    To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs.






    To protect and advance the interests of dog shows and various
trials.







    To promote responsible dog ownership








    To encourage sportsmanlike competition.







    To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, trials or any other
    performance event under the rules and regulations of the American
    Kennel Club.  

Standing Rules

The President, Show Chairperson or Assistant Chairperson will not own,
co-own, enter, show or exhibit any dog at a GMKC Conformation Show,
Obedience or Rally Trial.  A club member whose job is directly involved
with the selection or hospitality of judges will not own, co-own, enter,
show or exhibit any dog at any GMKC Conformation Show, Obedience
or Rally Trial.  In the same vein of fairness any GMKC Club Officer, Board
Member, or Member that owns, or co-owns a dog that is entered, show or
exhibited, will not attend the Judges Luncheon, Judges Dinner or any
other function hosted for the Judges by the GMKC.
Meetings

The Greater Monroe Kennel Club meetings are held every second
Tuesday of the month.  The meetings are held at the Hilltop Bistro, 1602
E. Roosevelt Boulevard (intersection of Hwy 74 & Hwy 601), Monroe,
NC.  All are encouraged and welcome to attend.  Meeting begins at 7:00
pm, but come early to eat dinner and meet the members.
The business meeting (aka Board meeting -(closed to guests) is held
following the regular monthly meeting.
MEMBERS

GMKC Members live in Charlotte, Gold Hill, Harrisburg, Indian Trail,
Marshville, Wingate, Matthews, Mint Hill, Misenheimer, Monroe and
Waxhaw.   The majority of the club members live in the immediate
Monroe area.
